Relation Presets & Cross-Record Calculations

Hi, I’ve been enjoying AnyLog, especially the flexibility of its Relation feature. While setting up my daily caffeine tracker, I came across two improvements that I think could make Relations even more powerful. For context, I’ve created two events: • My Coffee: A collection of coffee products I regularly drink. • Coffee Intake: An event where I select coffee products through Relation attributes and record the quantities used and total caffeine intake. 1. Support Relation Attributes in Presets I noticed that when creating a Preset, I can set default values for Number attributes, but Relation attributes aren’t available. Would it be possible to include Relation attributes in Presets? For example, I’d like to create a preset that automatically selects “UCC 117” from My Coffee, along with its usual quantity and caffeine value. This would make logging much faster while preserving the connections between records. 2. Support Calculations Using Values from Related Records Another feature I’d love to see is the ability to reference numeric attributes from related records in calculations. For example, each coffee product in My Coffee could store its caffeine content per gram. When logging a drink, I could simply select the coffee product and enter the quantity used, and AnyLog could automatically calculate the caffeine intake: Caffeine (mg) = Coffee Quantity (g) × Caffeine per Gram (mg/g) Ideally, this could also support calculations involving multiple related records, such as combining regular coffee and decaf in a single drink. I understand this second feature would likely require more development work, but I think it could open up many useful possibilities beyond caffeine tracking, such as nutrition, expenses, and other personal data calculations. These are just suggestions based on my experience using AnyLog. I really appreciate the flexibility you’ve already built into the app, and I’d be happy to see either improvement considered for a future update. Thanks for your time and continued work on AnyLog!
